About Us!

First Baptist Church of Warren is on Mission to obey the Great Commandment and fulfill the Great Commission. Our desire is to proclaim the Good News that Jesus is Lord and be a part of God's redemptive work in Warren, Texas and to the ends of the Earth.

Our model of ministry which guides our ministries as a church is:

BELIEVE, CONNECT, GROW, AND SHARE

Believe: The first step in following Christ is to believe. If followers of Christ "confess with [their] mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in [their] heart that God raised him from the dead, [they] will be saved. For it is with [their] heart that [they] believe and are justified, and it is with [their] mouth that [they] confess and are saved" (Romans 10:9-10).

Connect: Followers of Christ also are called to connect. While belief creates our connection with God, Christian fellowship with other believers strengthens that connection to God, our faith, and to each other.

God instilled in us the need for connection, the need for support in this spiritual journey. One way to seek out such connection is through active service in a local church. We see church membership as a natural outpouring of Christian followers, expressed clearly in the New Testament.

FBC Warren strives to offer opportunities for connection for a diverse range of needs, personalities, and walks of life. We offer opportunities for all ages to connect. Please refer to our various ministries for upcoming events and chances to connect.

Grow: Christ’s time on earth was marked by a passion for teaching others Spiritual truths. He exhorted His followers to reject a stagnant, lukewarm life and to instead, seek a dynamic ever-increasing faith.

The overriding mandate of the church is to make disciples, followers of Christ on a lifelong journey of obedience to him. This journey results in the transformation of values and behaviors. We should be characterized by our Christlikeness (Ephesians 4:13), our sacrificial giving (Matthew 19:16-22 & Luke 14:25-33), and our continuous commitment to learning from our Savior (Matthew 11:29). Once we become disciples, our life - our mission is forever changed, and we are called to share our Good News with others, making more disciples.

“And Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Share: Jesus sought to share his life and care for the needs of others everyday. As Christians, we strive to live like our Savior, making sharing an integral part of the ministry experience, here at FBC Warren.

Mark 1:40-41 indicates that sharing involves meeting a need with a compassionate heart, a witnessing mouth, and a willing hand. We believe distributing food to those who need it is good, but we also need to be offering Jesus. We desire to be a church with sleeves rolled up, ready to enter the trenches of a wounded world, providing for eternal sustenance as well as physical needs and carrying the message of Jesus to our local community and the far corners of the globe.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
